Embodied Processing

Many people feel that Meditation is difficult. However, if taught the right way, it really doesn't have to be.

Firstly, you DON’T have to sit cross-legged to meditate. In fact, you can sit or lie in any comfortable posture.

Meditation does NOT need to take a lot of time, although some patience and persistence are required. Many people soon find that meditation liberates them from the pressures of time, so that they have more time to spend on other things.

Most importantly it is not about trying to make your mind go blank! In meditation we generally bring our awareness to one focus eg. the breath, sensations, sounds and guide our awareness back to it when you notice your attention has drifted.

Embodied Processing (EP):

Over the years, we’ve seen a rise in conditions like depression, mental health issues, mental illness, addiction, and stress, with diagnosis rates climbing steadily. Despite an increase in available treatments, these issues continue to worsen. This suggests that current treatments aren’t yielding the desired results. While they may be helpful in certain cases, they’re generally not effective on a broader scale. We know that many of these surface-level symptoms of depression, anxiety, addiction, and PTSD often stem from deeper issues like trauma and a dysregulated nervous system. Until we address the core of our physiology as human beings and begin there, we’re not addressing the real problem. Simply talking through these issues won’t resolve them, as they run much deeper than our conscious awareness.

EP is based on the latest neuroscience and survival physiology. It is a new paradigm in addressing mental health issues, addiction, and stress. It comes from a trauma-informed comprehensive perspective as to what trauma is, the causes, and the symptoms.

What Are the Benefits of EP

The importance of being trauma-informed is learning to see that underneath the behaviour or addiction is a wound. This is what’s driving those behaviours. Being trauma-informed helps us take a different approach. Connection versus protection (with boundaries)
