Embodied Mindfulness

Come home to your body. Feel calmer and more connected to your body, and develop an emotional connection through movement, meditation, and gentle awareness.

I combine my expertise in somatic therapy and mindfulness to bring the best of both practices together. Both mindfulness and somatic practices helped me to cope with and recover from chronic pain and anxiety.

These sessions aim to help you reconnect with yourself through a combination of mindfulness meditation, gentle movement, sensation and breath awareness, to help you slow down and be present in your body.

Calm your busy mind, reduce stress, regulate your nervous system, and deepen your connection to your body and emotions.

Suitable for beginners and anyone looking to improve emotional wellbeing, build resilience, manage stress or anxiety, or simply take time to pause and recharge.

Whether you're new to mindfulness or looking to deepen your practice, this session offers a compassionate space to relax, restore, and come home to yourself.

What to wear - Comfortable clothes that you can move a little in. Trousers or shorts with some give, or yoga wear, are all suitable, though the movement we will be doing is very gentle and mostly upper body work. You may then sit or lie down for the remainder of this relaxing session.

What to bring - it is good to have a drink to hand. If in person, you will be provided with a mat, cushion and blanket, though you may bring your own if you wish.

Online sessions - see Insight Timer for times and dates

Testimonials

"The course has been very beneficial to me. It has given me a better understanding of how my mind works, to be more mindful and how to deal with difficult situations. It was also good to talk within a group to share experiences. I would also highly recommend the course to others".

"Amazingly informative and made me feel like I could easily start the meditations at home, which I have found difficult with other meditations. Very informative in a good gentle way rather than overloaded. "

”Maria has a very easy style and the group was very relaxed. Unfortunately I didn't get as much as I could have from the course as other commitments meant I couldn't do the exercises regularly at home. However I have the handouts and will definitely work through the exercises at a less busy time"”
